I’m writing a late post this Thursday because we had a long last full day of reunion. I had so much fun reconnecting with friends and meeting so many new people at this camp. I spent the morning washing dishes. I am slowly becoming a class A dishwasher. (thanks for all the help in the past, Dad!). The most challenging part of washing dishes is putting them all away because the kitchen is huge and has a lot of different pans and utensils that all go in different places.

Marigolds
Four marigolds planted in my plot by students at reunion.

Later in the night the camp had a variety show. The people who performed were great! I laughed so much at some of the funny skits and jokes. One of my favorite performances was from the preschool class. They sang a song that thanked Karli and all the interns for teaching them new things in the garden this week. Everyday we brought in the youth and some other helpers to learn about gardening. The students each planted a marigold and learned to water and harvest other plants. The preschoolers sang about thanking God for the beautiful flowers and that all the interns are growing flowers in the garden. It was exciting to teach students about what I am doing in the garden. I also enjoyed the opportunity to give them the experience to work with plants and compost. Now they can know more about what they eat and can make in their own gardens.
