Angie and I do!

This week on our day off we headed up Highway 17 for a little R&R in San Jose!

Driving was a struggle because we are using the camp truck to get around. I drive a little Jeep Liberty and have pretty poor depth perception, so needless to say it was challenging. Luckily, some kind gentlemen helped us into a parking spot. I willingly sacrificed my dignity so that we wouldn’t have to park 3,000 miles away.

We began our day at the Rose Garden and it was beautiful. The Red Hat Society of San Jose was there; there were cute old ladies identifying different flowers in full purple garb and red hats everywhere! Angie and I took an embarrassing amount of photos of flowers.

Afterwards, we were famished (because we didn’t stuff our faces with the normal amount of Happy Valley breakfast). We searched all over for an open sushi restaurant and went to three different venues with no luck. Finally, we settled upon a slightly sketchy Tacqueria which ending up being delicious and very affordable.

In the afternoon, we were reunited with one of our best friends from Graceland, Brooke Beytin and her adorable dog Maeve. We drank coffee and loved on each other and cried that we’re old graduates.

Angie and I then went to the famous “Winchester House”. It was grossly overpriced, but we learned a lot about a crazy old woman who built basically a house of puzzles. She was kind of a smart cookie, even if she was sort of delusional.

At the end of the day, we were reunited with Karli (!!!) and went to In-N-Out for joy, food, and friendship.
