Today camps are having to grow, adapt, and become flexible with the change of consumer expectations. If camps have difficulty breaking away from the old ways of camping they will either fail or have a lot of catching up to do. The battle camps are facing they didn’t have to before are higher expectations from their consumer like for example, having camps incorporate an element of education in their program and there are a vast number of other summer options for families and their children to choose from. Some other options are Boys and Girls Club, sport camp, summer school, vacations, YMCA programs etc. In order to compete camp have to have a “niche” something about their camp has to be unique and desirable for the camping experience.
