My first week here at Happy Valley has been a week filled with adventure, fear, and excitement. I was marveled at the scenery of Santa Cruz the moment I stepped into the car and Tim drove on. This place is amazing! I have never been to California before and I have never seen Red Wood trees. It was a moment I will not forget when I stepped into the campground and walked around. Throughout this week, we learned how to make compost, started swimming, and became well acquainted with the ropes training course. My favorite part of this week was the Myers-Briggs assessment and spending time with Lisa. She helped me and the other interns find out more about who we are and are strengths and weaknesses. It was an eye-opening experience and I am looking forward to finding out more about my personality traits and using them to benefit Happy Valley. I am looking forward to becoming Life-Guard certified and spending more time on the ropes course.
