Courtney Brummett Summer intern

Hello, world! My name is Courtney Brummett and I will be a junior at Graceland University this upcoming fall. I originate from Kansas City, Missouri, but my family recently relocated to Blue Springs, Missouri. I’m working towards a major in business administration accompanied by a minor in church leadership. At Graceland I’m involved in the Outreach International Club, Students Athletic Advisory Committee, Community of Christ Leadership Program, and will be captain of the Gadets dance team in the 2015-2016 school year. I’ve grown up attending camps at Chihowa and Doniphan, but I look forward to the amazing new memories we can create here at Happy Valley!

Christa Caldwell Summer Intern

Christa Caldwell Hi there! My name is Christa Caldwell. I am from a wonderful city called Roseville, California. In the fall, I will be a senior at Graceland University majoring in Business Administration with a minor in Communication and International Studies. I love to laugh. I laugh constantly in the morning, in the afternoon, and at night usually at nothing. I always try to stay happy and have a positive outlook on life. My passion in life is cooking and creating new flavors for well-balanced meals. At Happy Valley, I hope to spend the summer helping to create camp memories through positive experiences and delicious food!!!

Lynley Closson Summer Intern

Hi, My name is Lynley and I like warm hugs! Okay, so I’m not from Frozen, but I really do love hugs. I hail from the magical rolling plains of Blue Springs, Missouri, just outside of Kansas City. I recently graduated with a degree in Human Services from Graceland University and am pursuing a master's degree in Social Work at Washington University in the fall. I enjoy belting campfire songs, dancing silly, eating ALL the treats, chugging iced Starbucks coffee, playing ukulele poorly, and watching Cloud Atlas. Happy Valley is so nice I decided to intern twice! I’m stoked to return and help make this sacred space even more awesome.

Karli Conrad-Davis Yearlong Intern

Hello! I’m Karli Conrad-Davis. I’m 21 years old and have just graduated from Graceland University. My Bachelor of Arts is in Wellness Program Management, with a minor in business. I’ve been a part of the Community of Christ family since birth, thanks to my wonderful parents, Paul Davis and Evelyn Conrad. I’ve spent most of my life in Lamoni, Iowa, not going far for higher education. I’m lucky to have scored this Happy Valley Internship for the summer, and so far I’m having a blast with this little family of interns we have formed. And after this? Well, who really knows what comes after this? I’m open to opportunities and tribulations. My immediate plans are to move to Fort Collins, Colorado with my oldest brother, and when I’m ready, apply to the Wilderness Therapy graduate program at Naropa University. I hope you appreciate our daily recaps and abundance of stories.

Angie Delk Summer Intern

Hello there! I'm Angie Delk, and I am also a recent graduate from Graceland University. I'm originally from Blue Springs, MO, and I hope to move to San Francisco after this summer, but I don't know how I'm going to leave the beautiful Santa Cruz! During my free time at Happy Valley, I enjoy biking, stargazing, eating cookies, and obsessively watching New Girl. I'm excited for what's in store for us interns at HV, and I hope you enjoy our story!

Ronilsy Diaz Summer Intern

Hello, World! My name is Ronilsy but most people can’t pronounce that...weird, huh? I go by Rony, which is arguably easier to say. I come to Happy Valley from Oklahoma City after moving there from Novato, CA about a year and a half ago. However, most of my time is spent at Graceland where I study Biology and International Studies. Over the past two years, I’ve been involved in the Campus Organization for Social Events (COSA) and International Club on campus. This summer I can be found running around Happy Valley trying to figure out nerdy AV stuff and lifeguarding, but on my free time you can find me being a snake (watch the “I’m a Snake” video on YouTube if you aren’t familiar), tripping UP stairs, and talking in abbreviations. Seriously though, I feel too blessed to be stressed in having the opportunity to return to my home campground and be a part in providing groups with the wonderful experiences that were given to me as a camper.

Clayton Troxell Summer Intern

Hi, my name is Clayton Troxell, I am originally from Antioch California and grew up attending youth camps at Happy Valley. I Graduated from Graceland University in 2012 and now work there as a Hall Director. Being in property management already, I feel that a career in campgrounds management could be in my future. I am very excited to be here and soak up all the extra knowledge and experience I can.
