And it was here…and it’s gone!
The weeks are just flying by at this point! We finally started sinking our teeth into our Conceptual Project (which is the Mapping and Signage Project, btw.) And we helped run yet another camp. This is everything we did:
- Lynley ran a class at Senior High Camp.
- Brooke, Carly, Lynley, and Antonia lifeguarded. Once this week, Brooke and I were scheduled to lifeguard but that swim got axed. Doesn’t matter; did laps!
- Brooke, Carly, and Lynley did office hours. (Mine got axed.)
- Lynley was in charge of driving the Conceptual Project this week and created some timelines to guide us for the rest of the project.
- Antonia spent several days with Jeff working intensely on looking at fonts and visual research.
- Brooke, Carly, and Lynley helped Apex Adventures run a high ropes course session with the camp. And all four of us (plus Jakob) participated in a staff practice day that Alan very kindly helped us with. His fiance and her friend showed up to climb, too!
Speaking of the Conceptual Project, here are all the things we did on on that this week:
- Lynley and Jeff found some blueprints for the A-Frame Lodge. Then Antonia went and found some more.
- Antonia researched GPS units.
- We ordered one, it arrived and Adam (a real life cartographer!) trained us a little in using it!
- Carly made some GANTT charts for us to try to keep us on track of things.
- Brooke began a master list of signs around the camp. She also took a TON of photographs for places to put signs, and then annotated them with comments and suggestions.
- We had our first meeting with Jeff to discuss progress.
- Antonia and Jeff bought property tape to mark trail markers.
- Antonia and Brooke started to translate the photograph-list into a chart to keep the info all in one place and to help implementation. Here’s an example of that:

So yeah, that’s what we’ve been doing. Crazy. Oh, and after all that, we went to San Francisco while Carly went to attend her home camp’s reunion at Buckhorn. So there may be pictures of that around soon.
