Recently, Happy Valley Conference Center acquired 40 acres of new land on the north side. That’s how it gained it’s clever name “The North 40”! With all this new land, HVCC has a goal to clean it up and create an area that will benefit the campground and the amazing people that attend the camps here. But first, it needs to be intensely cleaned. There are extra buildings, cars and trash that currently have taken over.

When we first got here, five weeks ago, the interns were pumped and ready to demolish that area and start with something fresh! But, our time here at HVCC is full with a lot of other exciting things as well! We’ve been able to work on the North 40 a little bit, but not as much as we had initially hoped.

Luckily, we have senior high campers this week! Senior high has a “work day” every year and this time they chose to spend it cleaning up the North 40 with us! We were able to clear out fencing, a huge blackberry bush, and lots of excess objects! The senior high’s assistance with the North 40 was absolutely amazing! It was so extremely helpful and took a lot of weight off of our shoulders! Thanks to the senior high for being AWESOME.
