This weekend myself and the other interns spent our sweeeet freedom shopping and fartin around at the Monterey Bay Aquarium!!!

We began our glorious day by sleeping in and slowly making our way into the town of Santa Cruz to roam around and get our shoppin on, while Antonia spent some quality time with her lovely family.

While cruisin around after meeting up with Antonia, we stumbled across Santa Cruz’s Antique Street fair off of Pacific Avenue where we sifted through a variety of trinkets, Polynesian wear, and and antique furniture.

We then concluded our Santa Cruz shop day with a lovely lunch at Kainti’s with agent CrossFit Jeff where we feasted upon pasta, pizza, and calzones.

After lunch we were in route to the Monterey Bay Aquarium to see otters, and jellies, and fish. OH MY!!!  Brooke finally was reunited with her spirit animal, the sea otter, and we got to watch as they feed them, did a couple tricks, and then watched a sweet video about Luna the rescued sea otter.  We then migrated to the awesome jellyfish exhibit and chilled with some sea turtles and sharks.  Unfortunately when we got to the touch pools none of the bat rays or flat fish wanted to play but Antonia and I did get a little sea cucumber lovin before we moved on to the seahorse exhibit.  Which, did you know that not only do the male seahorses get pregnant, but they have about 20-30 babies at once?!  Sometimes even up to 50!!! Rough life for a male seahorse.

When we finally departed the aquarium, we decided it was only appropriate to go get sea food at Bubba Gump’s…I know, so cruel.  We did get a seaside view of the beautiful Pacific ocean where we spent our dinner dining with the sea otters outside the window.  To conclude our excursion, we gorged ourselves at Ghiradelli, and brought some back to our lovely friends here at HVCC where we watched Billy Elliott until bed.  That concludes the interns Monterey experience under the sea.

Until next time friends…Carly Fries outtttt.
