Meet the 2019 Interns!

Our interns’ first week has been hectic to say the least! They arrived on Happy Valley soil just a week ago and since then they have gone through Myers-Briggs Type Indicator with Dr. Lisa, Ropes Course training with Apex Adventures and Challengeworks, they’ve learned the ins and outs of housekeeping, hospitality, and the dishroom. Their training will help prepare them for a wild summer and enable them to serve each unique group to the best of our abilities. We’re so excited for this new group, they’ve already shown enthusiasm for the Happy Valley mission and dedication to hard work. This summer they will take the reins of this blog, so you’ll get to hear about their group projects and reflections on the different groups they will work with. Today they finally got on the trails where they will start diving into one of their group projects getting them up to snuff and ready for all of our guests to enjoy!

Jill comes to us from Lamoni, Iowa. She recently graduated from Graceland University with a degree in business administration and a minor in Art. Jill’s favorite place to be is on the beach in Pensacola, Florida. Let’s see if we can convert her to the West Coast instead!

Jaime also just graduated from Graceland University degree in Biology and Chemistry minor. He is from Kenosha, Wisconsin and loves exploring new places through the local cuisine.

Georgia grew up in the area and is currently from Sacramento, CA. She is majoring in Hispanic Studies and International Studies with a minor in Political Science at Graceland University. It won’t surprise you, based on her major, that she is bilingual and speaks Spanish!

Dyani is also from the Best Coast, coming from Portland, Oregon. She is majoring in Business Administration and Social Media Marketing with a minor in Hispanic Studies. Her bright pink hair helps distinguish her from our other interns, this is her 9th (or so) color.. but she can’t be sure.

Addison completes our crew, he drove all the way out here from his hometown of Independence, Missouri, stopping at several National Parks along the way. He is majoring in International Studies and Economics with a minor in Political Science. Someday he’d like to get to all of the National Parks across the country and has made it to 10 so far.

We hope you get to know these awesome people when you’re on site this summer!
